By Steven P. Garrison

If you are just about to install TalkSwitch Management Software and you find it that the auto discovery can't be able to find the TalkSwitch and it asserts "No telephone system detected", do not fret. This is likely to happen if you replace any network device like a router which changes the IP number subnet on your local area network.

Step one is to examine if there's an existing anti-virus software or firewall that affects the connection between the software and your PC. If there's any, try and disable it first to proceed with the installing procedure.

The second step is to attach the TalkSwitch device and your PC employing a USB wire and TalkSwitch Management Software. Click on IP Configuration (on the left side under configuration menu and global settings. Under system IP settings there's a drop-down box, it'll either say "Obtain IP and DNS info immediately" or "Use configured IP and DNS information".

If it says "Obtain IP and DNS information instantly" simply secure the network cable is forcibly hooked up to the LAN port on the phone system and connected to either your network router or to a switch and reboot the system by pressing the Power button on and off. Once fully booted up the Information light should be solid green and it should receive an IP from a DHCP server on the network.

If it is saying "Use configured IP and DNS info" this suggests that it is employing a statically assigned LAN IP number. If the subnet is different than the phone system you're going to need to change the IP number of the TalkSwitch. After this is complete disconnect the USB wire and re-connect the TalkSwitch Management Software to your network. You may be able to connect thru the software now after following these straightforward steps.
